Western Canadian Regionals wrapped up last weekend in Calgary. Hope everyone had a great time! Congratulations to Luckey Li and Michael Wittemann for grabbing this year's WCR titles! Missed it? Here are the videos
The Canadian contest season is upon us! We have two major contests in the works this year. Whether you're attending for fun or competing to win, don't miss out!
First up, Western Canadian Regionals (WCR) is finally back after a long hiatus! It's going to be in Calgary on the Sunday of the Easter long weekend.
And then the big one, Canadian Nationals! The defending Canadian Champions, the winners from the last year's ECR, and the winners from WCR in March will all be seeded into the finals in Nationals. It's back to the east coast in Toronto, on the Sunday of the Victoria Day long weekend.
CANYA declared a tie in the 1A division of the 2017 Canadian National Return Top Contest. In such case the IYYF conducts a full audit of scores to determine the seed for the Word Yo-Yo Contest. A detailed review of the original judges score sheets and computed results revealed there was a slight error with handwriting interpretation. This was corrected and the updated results place one player ahead by 0.3 points. The IYYF on reviewing the results and obtaining additional comments from judges, has awarded the seed to Worlds 2017 to Harrison Lee.
CANYA has ruled the difference of 0.3 points is not enough to reverse its earlier decision regarding the tie and will continue to award the National Championship title to both Luckey Li and Harrison Lee. The updated scores for the 1A division are provided below.
